Panorama Entertainment Systems (PES) has been formed as a new division of Panorama Labs to deliver Panorama products and technologies to the world of entertainment.
The initial focus of PES is to deliver real, longterm solutions to the motion-picture industry: "digital cinema" projection systems that will provide a longterm solution for the industry's historic conversion from traditional film-can celluloid to digital distribution and projection of films. The industry's need for a longterm, sustainable technology platform that will continue to support a theatrical experience, such as stereoscopic (3D) movies, that is significantly superior to what the consumer experiences at home, is vital, as is its need for a "smart" projection technology that can outstep the camcorders used by pirates, whose pirated DVD's threaten the industry with billions of dollars a year in lost revenues.
Panorama's MOD projector image engine technology has demonstrated the key performance benchmarks required for stereoscopic cinema and by anticomcorder software solutions, which the other digital cinema projection technologies have yet to fully provide.
Led by a management team of technical experts, consumer electronics executives, and entertainment industry veterans, Panorama Labs is exploring a full range of new possibilities for its technology.
