Panorama Synergy Ltd. (formerly ST Synergy Ltd. - name changed on 9th December 2008) was incorporated in Perth, Western Australia. The company focus is the research, development and commercialisation of a breakthrough technology in the field of photonics.
In physics, the two discrete disciplines of optics and magnetics have been thoroughly explored and are well understood. However, there is an area where these two disciplines overlap, and this area of magneto-optics has received significantly less attention, leaving fertile ground for exploration. It is this area of magneto-optics (MO), which has been exploited by the company.
This technology has been developed over a period of five years. The opportunity and timing to accelerate development and pursue a broad-based commercialisation strategy was made possible through recent advances in nano-scale materials and fabrication technologies (nanotechnology).
The technology under development has a wide range of applications where fast switching, low power and thermal stability are required. These applications include, but are not limited to:-
- Digital projectors (cinema, enterprise, corporate and consumer)
- Reconfigurable telecom switching
- Nano-memory devices
The Key benefits of the technology relate to the solid-state design and high performance. Lower capital cost and a faster time to market are enabled by this technology.
With regard to the area of applications, the technology has a distinctive “edge” in digital cinema projectors, telecom switching and holographic memory which all lead to a technological and market advantage.
